10 kilometers at (almost) 10,000 feet!

I know it's been a while, and I am currently pressed for time, but I wanted to update you on a few quick things...

1. Most importantly, 4 of us ran and successfully completed a 10K race last Sunday here in Quito! I felt and did better than I expected....next up: Chicago marathon???
2. We have had TONS of visitors in the last 2 weeks, and it's been fun to get to know people and share my experience here with them (special shout out to the Philp family - glad to hear you made it home safe - we miss you guys!)
3. My family will be here one week from today! I. Can't. Wait.
4. Life is good here at the CMT....everyone was excited to be reunited again after Christmas break, and now we're back in the full swing of things.

Hope you are all well!
Keely

...It was great to spend some time with all of you....What a group of gifted young people you are!! ...The kids at the center Are sooooo lucky to have you....But after being there I know ... what all those children mean to the volunteers....watching the kids faces light up when they see you..... When you are all so tired at the end of the day....Remember You Guys are "MAKING A DIFFERENCE"!!!!

I agree, you are such wonderful people who spend so much time on these precious kids. They are so lucky to have you. It was such a pleasure meeting everyone.

Hi Keel, I hope this works cuz everthing is in spanish!! I finally got around to getting caught up (again). How fun that you were in MN!! Say hi to your mom and dad (I'm guessing they could still be there as I write). I was just in MN this past weekend - just a quick visit to see my BF's daughter who had a concert in St. Paul. You probably saw that my Pack didn't make it to the Superbowl and all of Green Bay (and probably WI) are still in shock!!
I hope one of these months I can get back to MN to visit your folks as I am way overdue for a Schallock fix!
Glad all is well. Keep up the good work! Janet P

Keely, do you know what I loved about playing hangman with your students? Everyone was a winner! How is Francisco? How is Catherine and Ceilia and Cindy and Rosita and Rodrigo and Marlena and Josaline and Olympia and Maria and Ana and ??? In case you can't tell, we're hungry for some heartwarming stories up here in this frickin' cold tundra...
